One Bleak Try was a forceful way to break the only creative dry spell I suffered since before starting out as Milieu in 2004 - with the brute force of repetition and ear-flossing sonics. To elevate the raw material out of the mundane and utilitarian state it was in, I drafted the recording talents of David Tagg, Peter Wright, Acreil, Jason Adams (aka Blind Slime), Millipede and Shinobu Nemoto (aka Summons Of Shining Ruins). Issued at INSTALL in a run of 100, and long since out of print, One Bleak Try remains one of the most polarizing records I've created.
